Dollywood is a Must-see!

We visited Dollywood years ago when the kids were preschoolers and it was great for that age group. Now that they are older, they wanted to go back and try some bigger rides!

Resort

One of my favorite parts of Dollywood is the DreamMore Resort. I love how the rooms have a nice King Bed for the adults and bunk beds for the boys. The style of the rooms is unique and they are always extremely clean.

Song and Hearth is the restaurant there and it is outstanding! We went every morning for the breakfast buffet which is one of the best around. It is more of a home-style feel rather than your typical mass produced breakfast buffet. They even had a station to make your own donut so my boys loved that.

The pools here are fabulous! They have both an indoor and outdoor pool. Of course we had to try out both.

They also have a playground, firepit, cornhole, rocking chairs, and an arcade. Right off the lobby they have a food shop where you could grab snacks, sandwiches, beverages, pizza and even ice cream!

We found the ticket counter at the resort to be extremely convenient. You can get your park tickets and dinner show tickets here as well as get answers to any questions. Not only do they have shuttles from the resort to the park every few minutes BUT you also get the time saver for free by staying at the Resort!

Park

This park has fun for all ages! This trip the boys focused on the rollercoasters and were not disappointed. They have a variety of different rollercoasters that accommodated all of us! Unfortunately we didn’t get to ride the Lightning Rod while we were there but we enjoyed many rides on the Mystery Mind, FireChaser, Blazing Fury, Tennessee Tornado, Dragonflier and the favorite Wild Eagle. We usually ride everything and are done with an amusement park but that was not the case here. We actually spent a full day and night here and then went back the next day. I had no idea how much fun it was to ride rollercoasters at night, it is a whole different experience. I should mention Drop Line. This was one of the scarier rides for me but my youngest loved this one!

Dollywood also has an area called the Country Fair. If Rollercoasters aren’t you thing, this area has some great alternatives such as bumper cars, swings, and a ferris wheel. Not too mention they have a good amount of rides that little ones can enjoy here!

I also loved the fall theme and decor through-out the park while we were there. Last time we visited was in the summer so I wasn’t expecting anything and was pleasantly surprised. I loved just walking around enjoying the different pumpkin displays and the lights in the evening.

Somehow we never had to wait in lines. The boys rode the Wild Eagle over and over again without waiting. I don’t know if that is normal or we just lucked out, but it was refreshing considering the ridiculous wait times at other parks!

If you have never been to Dollywood, I highly recommend it. I loved visiting in the fall, not only for the festive decor and food but also for the perfect weather. My boys are crazy, but they said they enjoyed it more than Disney!!!
