It’s that time of year! I have compiled a list of gift suggestions again to hopefully help others out with ideas for Christmas. One of my favorite gifts are experiences but that is more difficult in 2020. Most of these items can be found using this link. However, I have linked toys individually below as well.
Family Games
2020 has provided us with many family game nights! While the classics like Battleship and CandyLand are always great, we are hoping to spice it up by trying some new games. Puzzles are also another fun activity to do together. However, they are more personal so I didn’t recommend any below. I used to put together puzzles with thousands of pieces of places we visited. Now I am doing 500 piece puzzles of Rudolph!
- RattleSnake Jake $19.99 – I am getting anxiety just thinking about this snake striking!
- Throw Throw Burrito $24.99 – So I get to throw fake burritos at my kids? YES PLEASE!
- Pictionary Air $19.82 – I have a feeling we will get some good laughs trying this one out! Temporarily on sale for $13.99!!!
- Connect 4 Shots $18.99 – It reminds me of beer pong. I am just making sure my kids are successful at something in college!
- Drone Home $19.99- Not sure I get the appeal here, but the kids really want it.
Legos
Lets be honest, we all hate stepping on legos but we love the quiet time they provide us! As always there are a lot of options. Star Wars are always a favorite of mine but this year there is a new series! They now have Super Mario sets which are also an interactive game! My son received a few sets for his birthday and it is awesome.
- Super Mario Starter Course $59.95
- Bowser’s Castle $99.95
- Yoshi Expansion Set $23.99
- Millennium Falcon $127.99
- Boba Fett Helmet $47.99
- The Child $79.95
Razors
Razor scooters are awesome! They are affordable and hold up to the abuse from my boys. However, I feel like their hoverboards are overpriced. We got one last year from Walmart for just under $100 and it is great. The past couple of years the pocket mod electric scooter has been popular in our neighborhood. The boys were always jealous but didn’t want one because they thought they were too girly. Sooooo thank goodness for the Dirt Rocket! It is an investment but both boys absolutely love it and use it a lot. Maybe someday we will try the Dune Buggy! Below are links to a variety of options:
- Scooter $29.99
- RipStik $53.99
- Motorized Scooter $135.65
- Pocket Mod $279.99
- Dirt Rocket $319.36
- Dune Buggy $540.96
The Child
Baby Yoda is more popular than ever! I think these toys will eventually be hard to find so if you see them you might just want to grab one. The Child Bop It game is only $14.88 at Wal-Mart. There is also a Baby Yoda Animatronic toy that even uses the force! It looks pretty cool and it was on the Disney site for $79.99 but it is only $59.99 on Amazon.
HexBug
I don’t really know much about them but my boys asked Santa for them so I will probably find out! I did go to Walmart recently to look through their inventory and I didn’t find anything so that was disappointing. I saw they have some online but they are about the same price as Amazon. However, keep your eyes out because I think Target will have them on special for Black Friday!!!!
- BattleBots Arena $74.99
- Build your own Bot $39.99
- JunkBots $19.99
- Nano Zone $29.99
Camera
My son asked for a waterproof camera. While I was looking for options, I noticed that they make mini go pros for kids that can go underwater. I also saw the camera that takes mini polaroids….I know, I am a little late to the party but I want one now!
VTech Kidizoom Action Cam $45.48
FujiFilm Instax Mini Bundle $119.95
Osmo
This is intriguing to me but I don’t know anything about it. It comprises educational games that you can interact with while on your iPad but using real actions. This starter kit is on sale for $74.99 on Amazon.
Watch
I think a Garmin Jr is a great idea for kids. It helps to motivate them to get outside and run around! They make lots of fun designs and are around $50.00.
Then for the older kids an Apple Watch could be an option. The older series should be reasonably priced under $200.
Obstacle Course
I sure wish we had an option in our yard for an Obstacle Course because my boys would love it. These look like loads of fun! Plus anything that gets the kids outside and moving is a win. Here is an example of one that is $129.99 but currently there is a clickable coupon for $29 off! HURRY!
Virtual Reality
I bought the Oculus Quest last year for my husband. Little did I know it would turn out to be great entertainment for my boys as well. They all play it and enjoy it. I must admit it is pretty amazing!
Mario Race Track
It must be the year for Mario! This Super Mario Race Track looks fun and old school. Who doesn’t love slot car races. The price is $34.99!
Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo Switch is fabulous. However, it might be hard to find one. I think the Switch Lite is a great alternative. It looks more like a true hand held device. Plus I like the price discount down to $199.99!
Nerf Guns
I have a love/hate relationship with Nerf guns. I love that my boys have so much fun with them…..but I hate finding little nerf darts EVERYWHERE! I am not being dramatic either. It is crazy the places these things show up. I am sure we will cave and the boys will get something from the Nerf family again. Here are a couple options:
- Nerf Rival $14.88
- Strong Arm Nerf & Strike $14.01
- Kids Tactical Vest $21.99
Go Go Flying Bird
I don’t know anyone that has it so I can’t provide a recommendation but it looks fun! I might take a gamble on it.
Go Go Flying Bird $39.99
Arcade Games
They have the large arcade game versions at places like Walmart but they are big and around $400. Luckily I found a smaller version at Kohls for $129.99.
I also came across a couple on HSN that have multiple games on them for $199.99!
Nighthawk
Again, I don’t know anything about this Nighthawk Ride-on but it was requested. All I know is I will have to put my boys in a full body suit to ride this! Target has it marked down from $149.99 to $99.99 for Black Friday!
Activity Table
I am always looking for something to keep the kids busy indoors and this looks like it might just do that. This table has 10 games to play and is $144.99!
American Doll
American Dolls never seem to get old. It looks like Joss is Girl of the Year so I imagine she is pretty popular. You can find her on the American Doll site for $140 and then on Amazon for around $160.
There is a cool looking RC car but unfortunately it is backordered. Luckily, you can find plenty of accessories that are reasonably priced. For example, here is a cute travel set for $25.99.
Barbie
Barbies now are fantastic! They have a much wider variety with many different looks and I love it. There are also a large amount of accessories that are awesome. The Barbie Dream House is super cool with a slide and a wheelchair lift! Barbie even has a camper, I am jealous.
Barbie $19.99
Barbie $19.99 currently on sale for $13.99
Barbie RV on sale for $79
Barbie Dream House $179.99
Books
I am that boring mom that loves to get the kids books every year. I love that my oldest has started reading chapter books now! He is hoping for a series called Eerie Elementary. However, this year my youngest asked for a cookbook. I think that is a fabulous idea! I found this Kids CookBook for baking that has great reviews and is on sale for $11.39!
Toys
Here is a list of some other great toys that you might want to consider:
- Wheel Buddy $99
- Kids Construction Fort $29.74
